JERRY T. YATES MINISTRIES!

The mission of Jerry T. Yates Ministries is to go into the world and proclaim the Gospel through music that speaks to the common person. To the blue collar workers. To baby boomers and to the previous generation. To those who haven't received many, if any, of life's good breaks. To those who might be more comfortable in a small, rural church, if they attend church at all.  And to any and all who need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

If you're interested in having Jerry at your church, coffee house, or foot stomping jamboree... please contact:

Rev. Jerry T. Yates hails from the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. Jerry’s family moved to Fairburn, GA in 1961. Jerry’s early musical influences were Elvis, Johnny Cash, and later, John Fogerty of rockCreedence Clearwater Revival. A seventh grade class talent show was Jerry's first public performance. He played guitar and sang in numerous rock bands throughout high school .

After graduation in 1970, Jerry embarked on a career in radio broadcasting as a DJ, news director and music director. He continued to perform in several rock and country bands, playing a circuit of honky tonks and juke joints around the south. Later he became a popular Elvis impersonator. This changed when he was saved in 1975.

In 1978, Jerry heard the audible voice of God say, "I want you to preach." He promptly obeyed. In 1979 Jerry formed the contemporary Christian group, "Chosen Vessels," and later, the southern /rockabilly gospel group, "Jerry T. Yates and Rock Solid Revival." Jerry and RSR received several nominations for "Band of the Year" from the Country Gospel Music Guild. Jerry was then led to become a solo, acoustic gospel artist with a more country/rockabilly/blues style.

As a solo artist, Jerry has been nominated for "New Male Vocalist of the Year' and the "Trailblazer" award; and he received the International Country Gospel Music Association's "New Male Vocalist of the Year from Georgia" award in 1994

Jerry writes most of his own songs, several of which have reached various Christian country and country gospel radio charts. One of his recent releases, "There's Peace from the Lord" debuted at number 14 on the Roots Music Association's Roots Gospel chart and remained in the top 30 for more than 54 weeks. It was also number one for two months in a row on the Georgia Roots Music Association's Gospel chart.

Jerry is excited about seeing you & visiting with you at your event!
